About Us

Each day in America, 270 new women will be diagnosed with a gynecologic cancer (cervical, ovarian, uterine, vaginal, vulva, and related cancers). As each day ends, another 83 wives, mothers, daughters, sisters, friends, and loved ones will die from these diseases.

As awareness (and research funding) for other cancers have soared in recent decades, gynecologic cancers have lagged behind.  Talking about "below the belt" cancers is still uncomfortable.  Raising money for research, even more difficult.  Many women are still unaware of the early warning signs of these cancers and, as a result, are often diagnosed far too late.

But now that's all about to change...thanks to YOU!

The Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Network (GynCAN) is a grass-roots community of active social media cancer survivors, family members, friends, medical professionals, and others dedicated to raising awareness about "below the belt" women's gynecologic cancers.

If you have a personal or organization blog, website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pintrest, Snapchat, YouTube or Google+ page (or are active on any other social media site), JOIN US to help spread the word, and make some noise!

Just post daily during September on your social media platform of choice using the hashtag #GynCAN.  Feel free to download the image below for your site as well!

Early cancer detection is critical to survivability. Greater awareness will also lead to improved research funding and cures. Thanks for your help!
